We are very happy to announce the newest addition to our family, our little girl Reese! She was born on November 3, 2014 and is a very happy and content baby. Our oldest son is Jaxson and he is in grade 1. If there is something on the farm he can help with, he’s there ready and waiting. Our daughter Rayne is in playschool and she is passionate about horses. Our son Rhéal is 2 and loves the cows and tractors. If you see the tractor running outside you can be sure he will be riding in it.
Along with our cattle business, we operate our own custom high clearance spraying business that Daniel started in 2006 and we also manage a 6,000 acre grain and oilseed farm with Daniel’s family.
After university, Daniel and I moved to his grandpère’s family homestead at St.Brieux in 2004. There were no cattle facilities here, so we started from scratch when we moved our commercial herd here. We started with my dad’s herd which consisted of a Heinz-57 mix. After that, we took on a few commercial cow herd dispersals. We had Angus, Simmental, Limousin, Shorthorn, Lowline and everything in between, but the one thing we found is how well the Simmental bulls crossed with all of the breeds. Because our commercial herd was so diverse, we saw which direction we wanted to take our entire herd. All signs pointed toward a Simmental foundation. About five years ago we were approached about buying the purebred cattle herd at Maple Drive Simmentals, from Allan and Linda Thomas. And that is how our next journey began. Since then we have purchased more purebred and fullblood females from TLF Simmentals and our latest acquisition, the Aumack Simmental herd from Randy and Russell. These powerful females will complement our existing program. We are very excited to announce our first annual CASALOMA CLASSIC bull sale in March!
So needless to say, there is never a dull moment around here, but we enjoy all of it. We look forward to meeting new people in every aspect of the business in the years to come.
